South Florida Fall Family Portraits: Don't Wait Until September to Book
Why I'm Already Booking Fall Sessions Now
It’s August in Florida and it’s HOT. No sign of autumn in sight. The last thing on your mind is fall family portraits. But here’s the thing—while you’re still soaking in the final days of summer by the pool, my fall calendar is starting to book. Soon, the weather will cool down, and ‘fall family photo season’ will be in full swing. I don’t want you to miss out! There’s an easy solution that ensures you actually get the date you want!
This season, I have had clients reaching out earlier than usual to book a fall date. I’m super excited about that! Booking your session early ensures that you will have plenty of time to organize and choose your clothing options. Who doesn’t want to get a head start on that, right?
Why I am Booking South Florida Fall Family Portraits Early
This season is unique to me because both of my children will be in school at the same time. Which means, my capacity to offer sessions will be limited. I want to show up with my best for my family and my clients. And this means that I can only offer a set amount of sessions per month. That means, that I will likely offer one evening session per week and one to two morning/sunrise sessions per week.
Because my children will be in school M-F, my weekends will be reserved for quality family time. Meaning, all sessions will be scheduled during the week. Caveat: I may offer a rare sunrise session on a Saturday if I need to.
Clients typically will book their session 3-6 weeks in advance. This gives them plenty of time to choose their wardrobe and discuss a location with me. When you book early, you get first dibs on your session date and a guaranteed spot on my calendar. I hate turning people away but this year I will need to be a little bit strict with the amount that I can take on.
My Sunset Time Slots Fill Up First
Sunset sessions are by far the most popular session time and thus, are the first to go. Sunset in the fall occurs around 6pm. That golden hour light is soft and buttery. Everyone loves sunset sessions! But, there are only so many evening sessions that I will be able to capture per month. My goal is to limit sunset sessions to one session per week. So, if you know for sure that you want a sunset session, reach out to me! These will be the first to go!
Let's Plan Your Session During Summer Calm, Not September Chaos
For most of you, your kids are back in school. Soon, all the fall festivities will begin and the homework will start to ramp up. I know the feeling that you get when your to-do list grows and begins to make you feel overwhelmed. I want all of my families to have a stress free experience. And that begins with pre-booking and lots of preparation time!
Let’s face it: I’ve booked a last-minute session before. And it WAS stressful. Don’t get me wrong, the session itself wasn’t stressful, but the time (or lack thereof) leading up to it was. There’s nothing like running to Walmart the night before your session to pick out your kids’ outfits! Yep, been there, done that. If I could do it all over again, I would have planned better. Booking well in advance would have allowed me to show up my best!
The Best Time to Plan Is Before Life Gets Busy
Fall may feel like a distant dream while you’re still soaking up summer, but those golden evenings are closer than you think. And here’s the thing—I want this experience to feel calm and joyful for you, not rushed and last-minute. When you book early, you give yourself the gift of breathing room, time to choose outfits you love, and a little extra peace in your already full schedule.
So let’s plan now, while the calendar is quiet and the days are still long. When the first cool breeze rolls in and life speeds up, you’ll be so glad this is already taken care of.
I can’t wait to create something beautiful with you this fall!
