Dubois Park Family Photos Jupiter Florida

This sweet family. I met mama years ago when I was pregnant with my first son. She was one of the intake nurses at the OB office that I was going to. I remember feeling so at ease with her. Since it was my first child, I was all sorts of nervous, but she answered all of my questions and really made me feel comfortable. So, when she inquired for a portrait session, I couldn’t be more excited.

We met at one of my favorite family session locations, Dubois Park in Jupiter. (You can see more sessions from Dubois Park here and here). Our session began at the Pioneer House which is nestled atop of an old Indian Mound. Remnants of old furnishings and clothes remain in the historic home. I often wonder what life was like in that era. Did a mother sit on the front porch and crochet blankets for her family while she watched her children play? My mind often goes to what kinds of stories have been lived in the walls of old homes like this one.

Ok, back to the session. The two kids were sweet as could be. I fell in love with little Mr. George. He was the same age as my baby boy so I had a particular fondness towards him. The kids couldn’t have been more cooperative! I sometimes don’t know how lucky I get with well-behaved kids!

Our next location was this lagoon area of the park. If you’ve visited Dubois before, then you know that the lagoon is a hot spot for the kiddos. It’s shallow and allows for kids to play and enjoy the water without having to battle waves (like you do at the beach). It’s one of my absolute favorite places to go in Dubois. The light was spectacular, and you know how much I love that golden light! I wanted these images to reflect the sweetness of that parent-child relationship. When kids are young there’s such sweet energy they have between their parents and I thought it would be perfect to capture this family’s sweet love.
