Over the course of the three years that I have been shooting weddings, I have had the privilege of photographing weddings at some pretty amazing venues. It's no secret that I love destination weddings! So, I figured I would share a few of my FAVORITE wedding venues from my travels!! These are not listed in any particular order, as they are all amazing!
Coconut Palm Inn | Tavernier, FL
If white sand beaches and turquoise water is your thing and you love to enjoy a fruity drink beneath a palm tree, then Coconut Palm Inn is your place! The venue is perfect for those who want to have a destination wedding. The good thing about it is that you can literally rent out the entire Inn and have plenty of rooms for your friends and family to stay. Plus, you get the place all to yourselves! The minute you check in, you are offered a tropical drink and you can immediately go relax by the pool, or take a kayak for a spin! This venue is perfect for someone who wants an outdoor Keys wedding. Leave all the planning to Blue Water Weddings and Events, they will take care of everything!
Plymouth Congregational Church | Coconut Grove, FL
I wasn't aware that we had churches like this here in South Florida! The Plymouth Congregational Church has some of the most beautiful architecture ever! Perfect for those who have an appreciation for old, historic buildings. The Spanish style church was built in 1917. It’s ornate architecture built from coral rock and the dark walnut church door really make it feel like you’re at a CASTLE!
Casa Feliz | Winter Park, FL
Ok, so technically this is outside of the scope of South Florida, but I have to include it on the list cause it's so pretty! This beautiful brick structure is actually located in Central Florida and was built in 1933. From the red brick that was stacked perfectly, to the vintage archway, the blue shutters and the gorgeous landscape, Casa Feliz is the picture perfect vintage romantic wedding venue.
I'm so excited to have the privilege of shooting another wedding here this fall!! :-)
The Hemingway House | Key West, FL
This wedding venue was a DREAM to work at. A wedding at legendary novel writer Ernest Hemingway's house? Sign me up for that!!
Hemingway's home is situated on a corner lot surrounded by wild tropical Floridian landscape and an old brick wall that encompasses the entire estate. The inside of the home is staged to mimic how it was when occupied by Hemingway. Tours through the home are given on a daily basis. But they will shut it down for your wedding.
A couple of options for the ceremony. Ceremomies can be held in the courtyard, or the lawn. While cocktail hour can be enjoyed by Hemingway's famous pool, and finally the reception can be held underneath a tent in the lawn. Such a cool place for a destination wedding!!
The Cooper Estate | Homestead, FL
What I love about the Cooper Estate is its unique architecture!! Most of it is made from coral rock and the reception room is stunning!!
The bridal suite is perfect. It's got that large window that is great for photos, and just enough space for everyone to get ready without it feeling too overcrowded.
I love the fact that there is a little space outside that is perfect for an intimate ceremony. You're completely surrounded by plants, it's like you're in a jungle! And just outside that area and it opens up into the perfect space for an outdoor cocktail hour.
