A Plum Colored Winter Wedding
There were a million different thoughts that danced through her mind that morning. And rightly so, she was about to marry the love of her life and she couldn't be more excited. She had imagined what their life would be like, raising children together, sticking close to their family and settling down in a small town. All of those dreams were sitting atop of her biggest dream-marrying him.
Miriam was just moments away from seeing Michael for the first time. Their first look was something she was so excited to have—an intimate moment just for the two of them. Michael waited calmly. As Miriam rounded the corner, I couldn’t help but smile. Her smile beamed as she approached her groom. Their embrace was beautiful, tears flowed and their hearts were full.
After the first look, we had lots of time to walk the golf course at Lost Lake and took SO many bride and groom portraits! I was so thankful for the sunshine and breeze on an atypical warm December day. Bridal party photos followed and all of Miriam’s girls wore rich plum colored wedding dresses which correlated perfectly. To keep her tootsies happy, Miriam had Converse sneakers to change into for the reception—which came in handy for as much dancing as she did!
One of my favorite moments of the day was when Miriam’s father saw her for the first time. It was a totally candid moment too, we hadn’t planned on doing a father-daughter first look, it just happened and it was beautiful. Her father hugged her so tightly! I love moments like these, it really puts the purpose behind what I do as a wedding photographer. I feel so fortunate to capture those moments that I cherish, myself.
Miriam and Michael, all I can say is thank you. It was such a pleasure documenting your day and capturing all of the special memories that you will hold onto and cherish forever! I hope you have a wonderful time honeymooning!!! <3
