HOUSE OF REFUGE
It’s been a little while since I had the opportunity to photograph a family portrait. Being a wedding photographer primarily, I do not get many opportunities to serve families. However, I absolutely loved the change and would like to serve more in the future! I photographed this sweet family session at House of Refuge in Stuart, Fl. I feel like this place is becoming my home away from home because I shoot there so often. But, what can I say, I love it!
ABOUT OUR SESSION
My client, Christen, extended her family photos to include her parents and brother as well as her husband and 4 month old baby. Wait until you see how cute her baby is! We arrived at House of Refuge about 90 minutes prior to sunset which allowed for the best light. I love shooting around this time because the light is much softer and more forgiving than it is earlier in the day.
We photographed their group photos near the rocks and down by the shore line. I then placed Christen, her husband and baby in the sand up from the shore and indulged in the gorgeous golden lighting. It could not have been any better! Our final location took us to the dock where we wrapped up the family photos. The sun was hovering over the horizon and gave me an opportunity to play with the lighting a bit. Super fun! Here are some of my favorite images from our session.
Christmas is right around the corner and it will be here before you know it. If you would like to get in touch with me to have a family session so you can send out Christmas cards, I’d love to work with you! You can contact me here and I will be in touch.
