Work-cationing in The Keys
It isn’t often that Jeremy and I can make it down to the Keys. Especially now, since he has started Paramedic school, our time together and our days off have been limited. BUT, it just so happened to work out that Jeremy could take off just enough time to escape with me down to Tavernier, FL this past weekend for a destination wedding! I was so excited!
We have gone to the Keys together about 3 times, each time we say to each other, “We should do this more often!” It’s always so relaxing. You know, as soon the Turnpike ends and you enter through that little road with water on either side of you, your worries just slip away.
But back up, before you get on that road, you have to check out the famous fruit stand, Robert Is Here. Thanks to my mother in law, who grew up in Miami, this fruit stand is now me and Jeremy’s favorite little stop before entering the Keys. And it’s not because of the fruit(although, that’s good too). They have the best milkshakes. THE. BEST. I recommend getting the Keylime milkshake!!!!
We found a new favorite place to stay in the keys! The Coconut Palm Inn! This was where the wedding was and my clients Lauren and Jeff graciously set us up with a room there! As soon as we arrived we were greeted with a delicious rum punch with flakes of coconut, it was the amazing!!!
That night, we headed out to dinner at our favorite restaurant, Morada Bay Cafe. This place was suggested by our sister and brother in law a few years ago and it has since become our favorite restaurant to sit and watch the sunset. Plus, the food is INCREDIBLE, out of this world delish! It was so great to get away for a few days. Yes I did shoot for 10 hours straight on Saturday, but it felt more like a vacation than anything ( a “work-cation” ). I could do this every weekend!
Here are a few iPhone photos we snapped along the way :)
