Wedding in a Historic Spanish "Castle"
Coconut Grove, miami florida
As she sat by the window getting the finishing touches of her makeup applied, Nicole excitedly anticipated marrying the man of her dreams. And she had everything to be excited for. He was smart, witty, handsome, and most of all, he took care of her. There’d be days she would come home from work, entirely exhausted, wanting to kick her feet up and unwind and Jordan would doctor her with the most scrumptious of dinners. You would have thought he had a degree in culinary by the meals he created. That’s just one of the representations of why they were the perfect match for one another.
Their wedding took place at the old, rustic, entirely gorgeous Plymouth Congregational Church in Coconut Grove, Miami. Perfect for those who have an appreciation for old, historic buildings. The Spanish style church was built in 1917. It’s ornate architecture built from coral rock and the dark walnut church door really make it feel like you’re at a CASTLE, it reminded me of movie The Princess Bride! We had SUCH a good time photographing their bride and groom portraits around the property! (Wait till you see Nicole’s bridal portraits in the “Bridal Gardens”!)
After the ceremony, we partied the night away at the Mayfair Hotel and Spa. And let me tell you, when I say we partied, I meant THEY did. They know how to get DOWN! I think just about everyone was raising the roof at this reception! Before the sun set, we had a quick moment to steal Nicole and Jordan away for some more portraits! When Jordan mentioned there was a roof top bar, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to shoot there. And I am so glad we did! Some of my favorite portraits we took where right at sunset on the roof top over looking Coconut Grove!
Nicole and Jordan, a million thanks to you guys for being such a generous and amazing couple! I wish you ALL the best as you both step into this new and exciting adventure in your lives!

Nicole and Jordan's wedding made the front page of the paper! :)
The closer the time came to get married, the more Nicole cried tears of JOY. In an effort to keep her from crying, her bridesmaids had some very funny ways of keeping the mood light. The result, more tears of joy!
Fun strap-y Badgely Mischka heels, you've got the right idea, Nicole!
Lots of love!
Cuteness OVERLOAD. These little flower girls, I just love them!
Clearly, Nicole has great taste. I love her bridesmaids coral dresses, the adorable flower girls' flower crowns and her brother's suits which also had hints of coral in the pocket square!
Thank you to my amazing second shooter Kim Smith for capturing these fun portraits of the guys! Love working with her!
Ahh! These next few of Nicole in the Bridal Garden are STUNNING! The light was perfect!!
That veil!! I never did ask how long it was, but if I had to guess, I would say it was probably 10-12 feet long! By the way, I LOVE when brides wear veils!
Jordan looked strapping in his suit!
"The Moment". The music started, every one in the old wooden pews stood up and the heavy 400 year old walnut door opened. Nicole was radiant as her father walked her down the aisle.
"The Moment" continues. This is when Jordan saw his bride! I just love the emotion captured in this photo.
They are married!!! Mr and Mrs Datchko!
It's portrait time!!!!! Don't you just LOVE all of that greenery?!
They day couldn't have been any more perfect!
Jordan and Nicole's first dance as husband and wife!
DANCE PARTY! Love the high energy of their families!!
The golden "magic hour" light + a beautiful couple + a hotel roof top in Miami = Pure BLISS!!!
