At The Flagler Museum

There we were. It was mid April and we had been floating along in our busy lives. Not that we were doing this intentionally, but Jeremy and I both had a busy few months. He was knee deep in paramedic school and I was involved in the “day to day”.

More and more, I am realizing that the schedules, meetings, work, errands—all important, but if not careful, they will pull you away from your priorities, if you allow it. And cultivating a marriage that thrives is a priority to me. I never want to be too busy for my husband. And I want to encourage my brides to do the same. When the months get closer to the wedding, I always encourage them to put the planning aside for an evening and make time for each other, it’s so important!

For us, we aren’t perfect at this, but we try to schedule a date every week. It’s been really challenging lately with Jeremy’s school schedule, but we try.

It had been a while since we had gone “out” together. And I don’t mean go out to dinner or a movie, or something. I mean, actually leave Stuart and go do something fun together that neither of us had done before.

This past Saturday we did just that!

I packed us a lunch and we headed down to the Flagler Museum in Palm Beach. Neither of us had ever been. And a museum? I think the only time I ever go to museums is on vacation, so it was pretty cool to go just ‘cause!

Side note: I would LOVE to shoot a wedding at the Flagler Museum, it would be a DREAM!

This is my awkward "I don't know what to do with my hands, so I'll clutch my bag for this photo" pose.

As Jeremy put it, these coconut palms were "hammock heaven".

One of my favorite parts of the museum, is the train station area! This is where they have weddings, isn't it BEAUTIFUL?! Perfect lighting too! :)

How to take a photo of yourselves: set the camera on the ground, hit the timer and make a MAD DASH for your spot!

The oldest house in Palm Beach, the Seagull Cottage! How adorable!
